Elkfest 2016: Cooler Than Normal

ElkfestPosterSpokane will be partly sunny this weekend
with just a slight breeze;
cooler than the typical Elkfest
with temperatures in the low seventies.

So gather the family
and collect your friends.
Get down to Browne’s Addition
for an artsy, brew-tiful weekend.

$2 beer gardens
and free live music.
It will be full of musical discoveries
and may even be therapeutic.

The Friday gardens open at 3pm
while The Rub begins playing at 4.
And when the rowdy Lee Baines III & the Glory Fires finish up,
we may need to pick you up off the floor.

Saturday’s lineup is an eclectic blend of genres
similar to last year’s vibe;
the perfect setting to hang out all day
and watch the Live Art Battle happening at 5.

Artists for a cause raffle

Wear sunscreen, eat a lot of food
and don’t get too drunk,
because Down North will top off the night
with some very memorable soulful funk.

Save some energy for LA-based raggae band, The Expanders,
the festival’s Sunday headliner.
You know that being there for the Elkfest finale
is way better than lounging at home in the recliner.

So, I’ll see you there, Spokane.
It is all ages and free.
The Beer Gardens are 21+
but there is plenty of fun for the whole family.

(to see what you’re in for check out my coverage from last year!)
